"Juneteenth" is the ninth episode of the first season of Atlanta. It is the ninth episode of the series overall. It premiered on October 25, 2016. It was written by Stefani Robinson and directed by Janicza Bravo.

Synopsis Edit

Earn and Van attend a Juneteenth themed party as Van thinks it is good for networking. The party is hosted by a very rich White man named Craig and his bourgeoisie Black wife, Monique as Earn and Van pretend to be a very happy married couple to impress the party attendees until Earn goes on them for insulting Alfred and his hip hop management career. The episode ends with Earn and Van having sex in the car.

  • Though he is mentioned, this is the first episode where Alfred is absent this season.
  • This is also the third episode this season where Darius is absent.
  • There is also an easter egg in this episode where the album cover of Donald Glover's third studio album "Awaken, My Love!" is shown in Craig's study.
